2.  Aboriginal Day: 

We will be celebrating Aboriginal Day on Friday June 21:  Please make sure to send the following: 

stick for talking stick (one per student approx. 3cm in diameter and 20 cm long)

Other items we still need:

-long sticks

-tooth picks

-string

Your child will receive $5 of school money for each item.  Please send items before Thursday June 21

3.       Reading Program at home:

Your child is encouraged to read in French at home daily.  To facilitate and encourage them to read, your child will receive $1 of school money for each minute read in French at home.  Please have your child write as follow in their agenda:  J’ai lu ___ minutes en français.  Sign and initial please.  Merci.

Fun summer reading challenge and swimming

Grade 3:  June 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14: Swimming, bring bathing suit and towel!!

Some kids took the opportunity to sign up for a fun summer reading challenge.  Here is a little more about it from the Calgary Public Library... 

"Kids and families can read (or be read to!), complete their Challenge Map for prizes and attend free science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STREAM) programs at the Library throughout the summer. And for teens, there's the Ultimate Summer Challenge Teen Takeover, with new online challenges every week.  Registration for the Ultimate Summer Challenge runs from May 15 to August 31."
